Two NRC events were completed last week, the SRAM Tour of the Gila for men and women and The Dana Point Grand Prix for men only. The UCI continues to crackdown on rules enforcement. In an e-mail obtained by podiuminsight, USA Cycling reminded teams and riders of the UCI rules that limit the races – and number of grand fondo events – that they can do. The bombshell this time is rule 1.2.019 which simply states that pro riders cannot race non-USAC sanctioned races. Updated with comment from OBRA Executive Director Kenji Sugahara.

While the UCI moves forwards to ban race radios in World Tour races, USA Cycling has reversed the ban instituted last year.
