The 2009 USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships continued at the Home Depot Center velodrome on Thursday with the women’s team pursuit national record falling, an Olympian re-gaining his national title in the kilo and team pursuit and scratch race champions crowned. The 2009 USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships opened in the velodrome at the Home Depot Center on Wednesday as Cody O’Reilly (BISSELL) and Cari Higgins (ProMan) were awarded the first-ever elite omnium national titles. Giddeon Massie (Bike Religion) won the standing 250-meter time trial.

Last Friday, cyclists, friends and family gathered at the Hellyer Velodrome for a night of ‘glam rock’ racing under the lights and to support Ashleigh Jackson on her road to recovery. The 24-year old Ashleigh, a member of the Alto Velo cycling team, was the victim of a hit and run driver on Sunday April 19 2009.
