It was inevitable. The four recent rock and mudslides along Highway 1 which have closed the coastal road, forced an inland route between Seaside and Paso Robles for stage 5 of the 2011 Amgen Tour of California on May 19. Unfortunately, the new route reduces the chances to (almost) nil of a break making it to the finish line.
