Zirbel’s Sanction Reduced

On December 27 2009, Tom Zirbel announced that his A sample from the USA Professional Time Trial Championships tested positive for exogenous DHEA. In April 2010, USADA handed down a 2-year suspension which began on November 17, 2009. He just announced that USADA reduced his sanction to end on March 21, 2011.

After being announced on the team as early as September, one name was missing from the Team Garmin-Transitions 2010 roster announced a few days ago – and that was Tom Zirbel. Per Zirbel’s statement, his A sample from the USA Professional TT Championships tested positive for exogenous DHEA.
