CrossVegas uses the tagline “the international cyclocross season starts American Style in Las Vegas” and it seems more fitting each year. 2011 looks to be no exception with the announcement by the organizer that the fifth edition of the race will return September 14. The biggest cyclocross race outside of Europe is big by any [...]

When it was first announced that Interbike would be moving to Anaheim, the response from many, if not most, of the exhibitors was a clear no way no how. They listened and the show is staying in Las Vegas. The good news in all of this is that we get more two more years of [...]

A crowd estimated, by the organizers, to be almost 10,000 spectators, filled the Desert Breeze Soccer Complex in Las Vegas for the third edition of CrossVegas. With the largest international field of cyclocross racers ever assembled in the U.S. competing, the anticipated international battle of America versus the world never developed. Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld) captured [...]

The crowds were bigger and rowdier by the time the men’s CrossVegas race started at 9pm. The presence of Lance Armstrong brought out a lot of media and the scrum at the start/finish line was unbelievable (see pic below). It was so bad that when I was talking to the winner Ryan Trebon (Kona) after [...]

The Men’s and Women’s CrossVegas 2008 races were a blast. While there was no mud and the course was considered ‘easy’, the racing was fast and aggressive, the crowds big and enthusiastic (and beered up as it should be in a cross race) and the organizers had set up plenty of flood lights to help [...]
