The boys in green came out of the Louisville races with another win, more podium finishes and the USGP lead halfway through the series. Somewhat surprisingly, the leader’s jersey is not on defending champion Tim Johnson’s back but on his young teammate’s, Jamey Driscoll who is tied on points in a battle with US Cross Champion Ryan Trebon of the KONA squad.

The defending USGP champions Katerina Nash (Luna Chix) and Ryan Trebon (KONA) took the win and the Series Leader’s jerseys at Day One of the USGP Derby City Cup in Louisville, Kentucky. Nash rode away from the field to solo to victory while Trebon fought until the end taking a 2-up sprint against Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) for the win.
Mention cyclocross to Jeremy Powers of the Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com team and you’ll get a quick reaction: his frequent smile gets bigger and more awesome’s get peppered in the conversation. While he loves all things cycling, the 26-year old has an obvious passion for cyclocross.
While Katie Compton (Planet Bike/Stevens) continued her domination in the final race Cincinnati UCI3 Cyclocross Festival, the Cincinnati UCI3 Harbin Park presented by Biowheels and United Dairy Farmers, it was “battle royale” in the men’s race. Jeremy Powers (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com) and Ryan Trebon (KONA) went head to head, or is that mano a mano, for most of the race.
