Bahati Foundation sweeps Merco Downtown Grand Prix

In a show of force and humor, young Alex Howes of the Felt-Holowesko Partners-Garmin team, the U23 development arm of the Slipstream organization, grabbed a hot dog and attacked the dwindling break at the bottom of the final brutal climb up to Snowbird and soloed away for the win at the Queen stage of the Larry H Miller Tour of Utah. It all comes down to the final crit at Joe Martin

It all comes down to the final criterium and time bonuses at the Joe Martin Stage Race as stage 3 came down to a bunch sprint where Colavita-Sutter Home’s Haedo claimed his second stage and Laura Van Glider (Mellow Mushroom) outkicked everyone. Only 9 seconds separate OUCH’s Rory Sutherland and BISSELL’s Ben Jacques-Maynes, the top two men on GC. The women’s race is even tighter with 9 seconds between leader Alison Powers (Team Type 1), Katheryn Curi-Mattis (Webcor) and Kat Carroll (TIBCO).

Jacques-Maynes and Powers win TT opener at Joe Martin Stage Race

The BISSELL team blitzed the opening time trial of the 32nd edition of the Joe Martin Stage Race putting four riders into the top ten with Ben Jacques-Maynes clocking the fastest time and course record breaking time of 8:03:73 , one second faster than last year’s winner Rory Sutherland (OUCH).

Leipheimer wins Sea Otter Road Race

The Bissell team launched attack after attack but in the final two-mile long, eight percent grade to the finish, Levi Leipheimer (Astana) dropped Paul Mach (Bissell) in the final meters to win the Sea Otter Classic Road. Winner of yesterday’s criterium Morgan Schmitt (Bissell) was third.
