An uphill climb over residential city streets, with one short downhill section. Roads are in generally good condition. There will be Neutral Support at .5 mile intervals along the course. The finish is at the top of the hill with a 207 meter (680’) total vertical ascent.

Fastest time in 2010: Amber Neben (Dare to Be-BMW Bianchi) 10:56 and Ben Day (Fly V Australia) 9:16

KOM for top 5 finishers; for 7, 5, 4, 3 and points each

No sprint points.

Sprint points: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point
- 5 for men: 75, 60, 45 & 30 minutes to go and 5 laps to go
- 3 for women: 45 & 30 minutes to go, and 5 laps to go.

Time Bonus
Intermediate: 3, 2 and 1 seconds
- at the start/finish line at the end of the first lap that starts after the midpoint of the race
Finish: 10, 6 and 4 seconds

No KOM.

Time cut: Any rider down 1 lap before the 2/3 point of the race (30 minutes to go).

All riders lapped will be asked to withdraw. Riders must complete at least four laps without being lapped to place in the race.

Three distinct sections to the course

  1. Starting circuit loop/transition: The women follow the short crit course to go directly to the Sunset Loop. The men do 2 1/4 laps of the short crit course, 1.32 miles in total length. After rounding the first turn on lap 3, the riders will transition to the start of the Sunset Loop.
  2. Sunset Loop: 6.5 miles (10.5 km) each with considerable climbing, especially during the first 2.6 miles (4.2 km). Women do 9 laps. Men do 12 laps
  3. Finish: riders return via same transition as #1 to Downtown Redlands. Women go to finish line. Men do final five laps of the finish circuit (1.0 mile criterium).

KOM: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point
- 5 for men: on Sunset loop. The 1st is approximately 8.6 miles from the start on the sunset loop. Then at 9, 7, 5, and 3 laps to go.
- 3 for women: on Sunset loop. The 1st is approximately 8.6 miles from the start on the sunset loop. Then at 5, and 3 laps to go.

Sprint points:
- 2 for men: at Start/Finish line of the two laps of the Downtown starting circuit.
- none for women.

Time Bonus
Intermediate: 3, 2 and 1 seconds
- 2 for men: First KOM, and at the start/finish line at the end of the first finish circuit.
- 1 for women: First KOM
