The venues.

Road race: The road races starts on The Mall before the riders head south-west through the city. They then cross the River Thames at Putney Bridge and continue out through Richmond Park, Bushy Park and past Hampton Court Palace. The Surrey section of the course incorporates several circuits of a challenging loop around Box Hill (nine for the men’s Road Race, two loops for the women’s), before the riders head north through Leatherhead, Esher, Kingston-upon-Thames, Richmond Park and back to The Mall for the finish. (see map)

Time trial: The event starts and finishes at Hampton Court Palace in south-west London, and incorporates sections of Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames and Surrey. Both the men’s and women’s events are held over a single lap, with slight variations in the courses reflecting the different distances – 44 km for men, 29 km for women.

Track: All track events are held in the velodrome located in the North of the Olympic Park. (watch virtual tour)

Mountain Bike: The cross-country fraces are held at Hadleigh Farm, a 550-acre site located in the Essex countryside on land owned by the Salvation Army. The five kilometre circuit is situated on open hillside and includes features such as Snake Hill, The Rock Garden and Deane’s Drop. (see map )

BMX: The new BMX track, located next to the Velodrome in the north of the Olympic Park, features eatures an eight-meter high ramp at the start, followed by jumps, bumps and tightly banked corners. The men’s track is 450m long and the women’s is 440m long. (see map)
