Compton, Powers Top Americans In UCI Standings

USA National Champion Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus)
Belgian Champion Sven Nys (Landbouwkrediet) is back on top of the updated UCI Cyclocross standings following the National Championships held this past weekend. Newly crowned USA Cyclocross Champion Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) remains the top American in the standing in 11th with Tim Johnson (Cannondale-cyclocrossworld.com) holding in 17th.
Following the end of the US cross season, Powers, along with Johnson and Ryan Trebon (LTS/Felt) will be racing in Europe for the next two World Cups before taking the world at the Cyclocross World Championships at the end of January. This means that for the next world cup in Liévin, France this weekend, Powers will be lining up in the second row while Johnson and Trebon will be in the third – assuming that all riders in the UCI Standings take the start.
The biggest jump in the standing was from U23 rider Jeffrey Bahnson (Van Dessel) who jumped 338 spots to 206th. In the American top 10, U23 National Champion Zach McDonald (Rapha-Focus) moved up 8 spots to 60th. McDonald will also be racing in Europe in the next weeks.
Powerhouse Marianne Vos (Rabobank Women’s Team) remains in the lead in the women’s ranking with 160 points on eight-time and reigning US Champion Katie Compton (Rabobank-Giant). Meredith Miller (CalGiant) is the next American in the standings in 16th followed by Amy Dombroski (Crank Brothers) in 20th. U23 National Champion Kaitie Antonneau (Cannondale-cyclocrossworld.com) moved up two spots to 22nd.
Andrew Dillman (Bob’s Red Mill) remains the top American in the Junior rankings led by Mathieu van der Poel of the Netherlands. Dillman dropped one spot to 7th while US Junior 17/18 Champion Logan Owen (Team Redline) jumped up six spots to 10th overall.
The UCI is using a rolling 12-month calendar to calculate the standings. The updated standings are used for call-ups at UCI races. Complete standings available on UCI site.
