Trebon – “I just wasn’t fast enough”

After a good start, Ryan Trebon (LTS/Felt) was off the front of the race at day one of the Cincinnati3 Cyclocross Festival but then could not hold onto eventual winner Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus)’s wheel in the early laps. Caught and passed by another rider, Trebon found himself riding with Tim Johnson (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) for a lap until he was able to drop his competitor and finish third.
About the first lap. “I think Powers slid out at the top of that little 180 and Tim went down but I got held up but it didn’t hold me too long. That was it man. Barry was riding really fast that first lap and then, I don’t know, it was just ugly out there. That was just a painfully slow race today for me.”
About riding with Johnson. “Tim caught me and I rode with him and I was able to recover a little bit, I rode one fast lap. I had one lap in me today and the rest, I was just suffering just to get through.”
About his race. “Jeremy is riding really well, I just felt a little flat, I was just suffering. I have no excuses, the bike worked well, everything worked good, I just wasn’t fast enough.”
