After delaying her 2011 season to concentrate on her quest for the World Championship, Katie Compton (Rabobank), the reigning US National Cyclocross Champion and current leader of the UCI Standings, will make her 2nd stop in the US at the Cincy3 Cyclocross Festival including a clinic for women and juniors. The current starting grid is currently rounded out by: 2011 French National Cyclocross Champion Caroline Mani (CC Etupes Le Doubs Pays de Montbéliard)), Sue Butler (River City Bicycles), Meredith Miller and Teal Stetson-Lee (CalGiant), and Coryn Rivera (Marian).
Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester winners Jeremy Powers (Rapha Focus) and 6-time Swiss National Champion Christian Heule (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld) get the call up for the men and share the starting grid with Tim Johnson (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld), Chris Jones (Rapha-Focus), Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld) and USGP leader Ryan Trebon (LTS/Felt).
The Cincy3 Cyclocross Festival will be presenting its first-ever UCI Juniors races for Saturday’s and Sunday’s races. There are very few weekends in the US for this very important category and they are rolling out the red carpet. The Ohio Valley has some of the strongest junior programs in the country and we’re hoping for some great racing.
