Primal/MapMyRIDE Professional Women’s Racing powered by BH Bikes’ Nicky Wangsgard never relinquished the yellow jersey at the Point Premium Root Beer International Cycling Classic Superweek, winning for the third year in a row on Sunday and establishing a record women’s mark in the nine-race event in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Team rider Tiffany Pezzulo claimed the red sprinter’s jersey, solidifying her title with a stage win on the final day.

“All I can say is ‘Wow,’ it’s an incredible accomplishment for Nicky and Tiffany,” said Team Manager Susannah Gordon. “This is a grueling event and the field was really strong this year, but the girls rode very smart all week and really pushed to make this happen.”

Wangsgard never finished out of the top-10 and logged three wins and two other podium finishes. Pezzulo finished the week with one win among her seven top-10s.

Until Wangsgard’s win this weekend, no female rider had ever won Superweek three years running.
