Team NoTubes/ AXA Equitable picks up steam as they enter the second half of the USA Crit series with the Iron Hill Twilight Criterium this weekend in Westchester, PA.
After 4 rounds of racing, Team NoTubes/ AXA Equitable’s Clayton Barrows is sitting in 3rd place overall in the USA Crits series following a strong 3rd place finish in the Hyde Park Blast in Cincinnati last month. The team is currently in 4th in the team standing as well.
The Iron Hill Twilight Criterium is a special race for the team for a number of reasons.
“This was the first real significant national level victory for the team last year,” said defending champion Barrows.
“For me this race is special because my father taught at the University of West Chester for over 30 years,” said team rider Karl Rahn who grew up less than 5 miles from the course and has competed in ever edition of the race since its inception in 2004.
The Iron Hill Twilight Criterium has steadily grown over the years into one of the premier cycling events in the region. The pro-men’s race features current and former Olympic athletes, national and international champions. In addition to the pro men’s race, this year’s event also features amateur races, an elite women’s race, kid’s race and a block party. Crowds of over 20,000 are expected throughout the day, with the pro-men starting at 7:45pm.
