Mancebo, Hughes top NRC standings

Two NRC events were completed last week, the SRAM Tour of the Gila for men and women and The Dana Point Grand Prix for men only.

Francisco Mancebo ( and Clara Hughes (Pactimo Cycling) won the overall at the SRAM Tour of the Gila. Read all about it here.

Brad Huff (Jelly Belly p/b Kenda) won the Dana Point Grand Prix with a surge of speed on the final lap when he came around a lone breakaway rider after launching his sprint early. Rahsaan Bahati (SKLZ p/b Pista Palace) crossed the line one second later for second and Ben Kersten (V Australia) was third. (Check out this great video, Huff’s POV as he sprints for the line)

Winning her second NRC stage race and a stage, Mancebo has a commanding lead in the NRC men’s individual standings with 317 points over Chris Baldwin – now with BISSELL even though USA Cycling has him listed as Team Juwi Solar-First Solar. Ben Jacques-Maynes is five points behind his teammate Baldwin and eight points ahead of fourth-place Lachlan Morton (Chipotle Development). holds a commanding 230-point lead in the men ‘s team standings over BISSELL Pro Cycling Team. Trek Livestrong is in third place, trailing BISSELL by 11 points. Chipotle Development has a 103-point advantage for fourth place over Team Exergy.

Following her overall win, two stage wins and a podium at Gila, Hughes takes over the NRC individual women’s standings with a 27-point lead Amber Neben (HTC-Highroad Women). Mara Abbott (Diadora Pasta Zara) is in third place.

Colavita-Forno d’Asolo increased its lead in the women’s team classification with a 269-point gap on Team TIBCO-To The Top.
