Armstrong Makes It Three For Three At Sea Otter

The only woman to break the 19 minute barrier, Kristin Armstrong (Peanut Butter & Co Twenty12) flew on the 7.8 mi (12.6 km) hilly course. The Olympic Gold TT Medalist stopped the clock at 18:55 and claimed her third victory in a row at the Sea Otter Classic.

Triathlete Rhae Shaw was 47 seconds down to take second and Jennifer Wheeler (TIBCO/To The Top) took third at 1:14 down.

Armstrong has a unassailable lead in the omnium with one stage to go, the Circuit Race on the Laguna Seca racetrack with the famous corkscrew. The women race for 2 hours on the 2.2-mile loop where the wind often plays a factor.
