Twitter Hashtags For Races

Following sporza.be‘s lead, here’s a list of twitter hashtag for North American road races that we, @podiuminsight and @podium_live, propose to use this year. The use of hashtag (a # in front of a keyword) is used to categorize tweets which facilitates searching and allows a reader to quickly find all other tweets in the same category by just clicking on the hashtag.
Let us know if we missed any and/or if you’d like to propose a different hashtag for a race. (last update March 10, 2011)

I think that using lowercase letters is far easier than upper/lower case but then I am just lazy.

Good list, Lyne. I would suggest – if you are going with some capital letters – that “AToC” be used for the Amgen Tour of California.
In the interest of saving characters, I would also suggest “qpc” for the Quiznos Pro Challenge. Even the race organization itself has started using that acronym.

I believe Mt Hood was #MHCC last year.. Check with the good folks at Break Away Promo if you want to be certain.

#toad will be added to the list – imo the best hashtag for a race out there.
Chris, I’ll check with Mt Hood folks, I couldn’t find any hashtags on their twitter feed.
