Hoogerheide World Cup course walkthrough on the day before the cross race. The 3-km course was officially open for a pre-ride on Saturday from 2 to 4pm.
Riders that took advantage of the opportunity included Katie Compton (Planet Bike/Stevens), Meredith Miller (CalGiant), Sue Butler (Hudz-Subaru), Katerina Nash (Luna), Hanka Kupfernagel (Itera-Stevens), Francis Mourey (FDJ), Cody Kaiser (CalGiant), Valentin Scherz (Swizterland), Danny Summerhill (Felt-Holowesko Partners), Yannick Eckmann (Germany/Hot Tubes), Marco Fontana (Cannondale) and many more.
The course is heavy but still fast so well-suited for power riders with one muddy, boggy section. During the pre-ride many attempted but few succeeded to ride up the runup which is just before the turns before hitting the pavement and the finish line. Also, the dash for theĀ holeshot is long and quite flat.
The Junior 17/18 Men start at 10am CET, the U23 Men at 11:10am CET, the Elite Women at 1:30pm CET and the Elite Men at 3pm.
