Ian Boswell, of the BISSELL Pro Cycling Team, made the selection when the field splintered as the roads pitched up on the tough Mt Nebo climb on stage 2 of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. Finishing third on the stage behind overall winner Levi Leipheimer (Mellow Johnny’s) and Francisco Mancebo (Canyon Bicycles), the 19-year old took hold of the the blue Powerade/vitaminwater Best Young Rider jersey.
Not only did he successfully defend the jersey but he once again made his way into a select group on the last stage, the tough climb up Snowbird, to finish 8th on the stage and 3rd overall behind Leipheimer and Mancebo.
We sat down with Boswell during to stage race to get to know the Bend, Oregon rider who will be moving to the Trek Livestrong U23 squad next year.
Oh and one last thing, word on the street is that younger brother Austin is as good (if not better than Ian). Watch out world, the Boswells are coming.
