The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) also held the Canadian Road Championships in Edmonton over the weekend for the Elite and U23 Men and Women. The Junior Canadian Road Championships will be held on July 1-4 in Devon, Alberta.

One NRC race, for men, was held over the weekend. Yosvany Falcon (Bahati Foundation) outsprinted his breakmates to win the 49th Chevron Manhattan Beach Grand Prix. Bernie Sulzberger (Fly V Australia) was second and Diego Yepez (Bike Religion) third.

In the women’s race, Pam Schuster (SCVelo) took the win ahead of her teammate Priscilla Calderon and Anna Drukullich (Herbalife LaGrange). (Full results here)

ToAD. James Stemper (Kenda p/b GearGrinder) won the overall at the 2010 Tour of America’s Dairyland after 11 consecutive days of racing. His teammate Chad Hartley, last year’s overall winner, placed second with Mike Northey (Rubicon-ORBEA) rounding out the Overall three. Sarah Caravella (Team CARD) took the overall in the women’s race in a tight battle with Carrie Cash Wootten (Team VBF) who finished second. Tina Schofield (Z-Motion) finished third. That race in France. 8 Americans and 2 Canadians should be at the start of the Tour de France later this week. For the BMC team, Brent Bookwalter on his second Grand Tour this year and George Hincapie who will be making his 15th Tour start, one shy of Joop Zoetemelk’s record. For the Garmin-Transitions team, 3 Americans Tyler Farrar, Christian Vande Velde, David Zabriskie and Ryder Hesjedal of Canada. For RadioShack, Lance Armstrong, Chris Horner and Levi Leipheimer. And last but not least, Canadian Mike Barry will finally be racing at the Tour with Team Sky.
