“We are pleased to be selected for this challenging race,” said Alexandre. “Alejandro Borrajo is racing in top form and I expect he will deliver a stage win at the Tour de Santa Catarina just as he did at the Rutas de America in Uruguay earlier this year.”

The five-stage Tour de Santa Catarina covers over 365 miles of hilly terrain in the southern state of Parana. The mountain stages at Serra do Rio do Rastro are among the toughest climbs in Brazil, with an average grade of 10% stretching over four miles.

The Tour de Santa Catarina roster for Jamis/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Colavita includes:

  • Demis Aleman (ARG)
  • Alejandro Borrajo (ARG)
  • Jamey Driscoll (USA)
  • Guido Palma (ARG)
  • Jackie Simes (USA)

“Our title sponsor Jamis Bicycles is very excited that we will be racing the Tour de Catarina,” Alexandre continued. “We are pleased that Continental Bikes, Jamis Bikes’ distributor in Brazil, will be on the streets cheering for the team colors.”

After the Tour de Santa Catarina, Borrajo and his teammates will re-join the Jamis/Sutter Home squad for NRC races in the southwest, including the Tour of the Gila and the Joe Martin Stage Race. Alexandre said he expects to announce the addition of more UCI races for the team’s schedule later in the season.
