Looking back at April

April brought a gap in the NRC calendar which left yours truly to enjoy some of the other races: Copperopolis, billed as “the Paris-Roubaix of California” and Sea Otter Classic in Monterey.
I just like the shot – sometimes it is that simple.
Every year it seems that mother nature has it in for the Sea Otter Circuit Race held on the Laguna Seca speedway with its infamous corkscrew. In years past we’ve had torrential downpours, howling winds and this year it was a heatwave. The temperature hit over 100 on the pavement for the races.
The heatwave continued on the fourth and final day, it was so bad in fact that both the cross country races were shortened down to one lap for the women and two for the men.
