Driscoll counting on his boys in green to defend USGP lead

The boys in green came out of the Louisville races with another win, more podium finishes and the USGP lead halfway through the series. Somewhat surprisingly, the leader’s jersey is not on defending champion Tim Johnson’s back but on his young teammate’s, Jamey Driscoll who is tied on points in a battle with US Cross Champion Ryan Trebon of the KONA squad.

The sun shone down on the Verge NECCS Sunday in New Gloucester, but the mud hung like a black cloud over the head of many racers. Maureen Bruno-Roy (MM Racing p/b Seven Cycles) and Dan Timmerman (Richard Sachs/RGM/Radix), on the other hand, had great days in the saddle, each doubling up on the weekend and extending their series leads.

2010 Amgen Tour of California Route

This morning the host cities for 2010 Amgen Tour of California were announced via an orchestrated marketing campaign on twitter launched by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. A closer look at the 2010 NRC

Last week, USA Cycling published the 2010 USA Cycling National Racing Calendar (NRC) with 27 events total, where 15 are criteriums and 8 are multi-day stage rages. Last year, the initial NRC had 34 events, but as races were canceled throughout the year, only 26 events were finally completed. The 2010 includes 8 men’s-only and 2 women’s-only events.
