Kelly Benefit Strategies riders Reid Mumford and Scott Zwizanski, who battled over ten grueling stages for the leaders jersey in the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay, have decided to auction off this piece of cycling history to help raise money for their trip to Africa with World Bicycle Relief.

Visit the auction site to read about the legendary battle that took place between the two riders in Uruguay, which was eventually won by Scott Zwizanski, or see photos of the jersey in action in Uruguay for a closer look. Upon winning the jersey, the owner can choose to have it signed by Mumford, Zwiz, or both. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of cycling history and have a cool yellow leaders kit to wear around town on your bike or add to your collection.

A short interview with both Scott & Reid on the auction:

Tell me about your involvement with World Bicycle Relief.
Reid: We’re raising money for World Bicycle Relief, there’s a project that we are doing in Zambia, trying to put 26,000 bicycles in the hand of students, caregivers there. We’re been raising money all year long, we’re going to take a trio to Zambia in October.

Tell me about the trip this fall.
Scott: Four of us riders are going, Reid, myself, Alex Candelario and Neil Shirley. We are going basically to be ambassadors of the World Bicycle Relief program over there, to experience how bicycles affect their lives and the improvements that it makes. Check out the factory where they build them, ride with these bikes about 30 to 40 kilometers to a school to deliver the bikes. Yeah, it’s going to see how it affects their lives and to bring that message back.

How long will you be there for?
Reid: It’s a ten day trip.

Tell me about the auction.
Scott: The auction is for a Tour of Uruguay yellow jersey where Reid and I swapped jersey positions and we kind of played it up to play that we stole it from each other. All the money from that auction is going towards our trip and also towards buying bicycles for World Bicycle Relief.
