As part of the Alexian Brothers Tour of Elk Grove event, a women’s cat/1/2/3 50-minute (+1 lap) criterium was held on Saturday afternoon. Mellow Mushroom’s Laura Van Gilder won the sprint ahead of Genie Kunajek (Team Mack) and Cathering Wahlberg (Kenda). Pan American Road Champion Joëlle Numainville (Kenda) won quite a few prime sprint before crashing out in the final laps.

Thanks for your coverage of the womens event! We couldn’t even garner a sentence of reporting from cyclingnews or velonews and it’s nice to see some quality photos from the race. Keep up the good work with your site!
