Photos from the 29th Annual Copperopolis: The Paris-Roubaix of California held on Saturday April 11, 2009. (as always click for larger images).
All categories are jumbled together as they were all on course at the same time on an absolutely beautiful spring day.
In the men’s pro/1/2 race, Ben Jacques-Maynes (Bissell) worked the breaks today and was in the wind for four of the five 21-mile laps to finally take the win. Scott Nydam (BMC) who was part of the final 2-man break finished second and Andy Jacques-Maynes (Bissell) was third. In the small women’s pro/1/2 field, a group of 4 riders broke away from the field and from the group, Rachel Heal (Colavita/Sutter Home) took the win ahead of Olivia Dillon (Touchstone) and Marina Koshevaya (Third Pillar) after 3 laps.

Lyne, I told you it was a kewl race, and great scenery. I’m so sorry I missed it. Sent my camera and lens back to Canon…we’ll see. And Mr. Jackson himself (of Kendall-Jackson) spoke at Pete’s cousin’s memorial. Never knew they were going to help him start his own winery. it was very touching…
Did you tell Rachel (Colavita to say hi)? They told me Marian did, I thought they meant you….
