Today, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Columbia-High Road) won the very aggressive Beaumont Stage Race, at day 2 of the Redlands Bicycle Classic. In a field already decimated by strong crosswinds, a trio launched an attack in the final lap and Teutenberg outsprinted Tina Pic (Colavita/Sutter Home) for the win. Lauren Tamayo (Tibco) finished third.

Amber Neben (Numberger Shoair) crossed the line in a small group and kep her yellow leader’s jersey. Overall classification results are not published as of yet. Teutenberg also picked up the green sprinters jersey.

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg wins Beaumont Stage Race at Redlands

Jeff Louder (BMC) outsprinted his late-stage breakmates for the win at the Beaumont Stage Race. The four men escaped on the descent of the final KOM and managed to stay away from a chasing field through the crosswinds to make it the finishing straight together. Louder won the sprint ahead of Will Routley (Jelly Belly) and Peter Stetina (Garmin-Holoweko Partners-Felt). Ben Day (Fly V Australia) finished a few seconds later in the chase group.

With the time bonuses available at the finish, Louder moves into the lead in the overall classification. Tom Zirbel (Bissell), who was part of the break and finished fourth on the stage. moves into the second spot. Kirk Carlsen (Garmin-Holoweko Partners-Felt) is the new KOM leader and Louder also picked up the green sprinters jersey.
