Yannick Eckmann sweeps Mercer and takes over USGP lead

We have a new leader in the very tight race in the Men’s Jr 17-18 series of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross. Young Yannick Eckmann (Clif Bar Development Team) discovered that he loves the mud at this weekend’s Mercer Cup Races as the almost 16 year old swept the two races to take over the lead of the USGP series. Podium for Men U23 of Day 2 of Derby City Cup, race #4 of US Gran Prix of cyclocross (USGP). Winner Travis Livermon (Cannondale), 2nd Dave Hackworthy (Ridley), 3rd Jack Hinkens (Ridley). Hackworthy is U23 USGP leader with 4 races to go.

The boys in green came out of the Louisville races with another win, more podium finishes and the USGP lead halfway through the series. Somewhat surprisingly, the leader’s jersey is not on defending champion Tim Johnson’s back but on his young teammate’s, Jamey Driscoll who is tied on points in a battle with US Cross Champion Ryan Trebon of the KONA squad.

Katerina Nash (Luna) and Tim Johnson (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) put on a show of force at Day 2 of the U.S Gran Prix of Cyclocross Derby City Cup p/b Papa John’s. Nash increased her lead while Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) finished second to become the new USGP leader halfway through the series.

Men’s Elite podium ceremony of Day 2 of Derby City Cup of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross (USGP) in Louisville, KY. Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com sweeps podium with Tim Johnson soloing to the win, Jamey Driscoll in second and Jeremy Powers third. Driscoll is new leader in the USGP series with two weekends to go. The defending USGP champions Katerina Nash (Luna Chix) and Ryan Trebon (KONA) took the win and the Series Leader’s jerseys at Day One of the USGP Derby City Cup in Louisville, Kentucky. Nash rode away from the field to solo to victory while Trebon fought until the end taking a 2-up sprint against Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) for the win.
