Presenting the 13 US Continental Men’s Team for 2009

Posted on 09. Dec, 2008 by in news

USA Cycling announced the 13 Continental Men’s Teams registered in the USA for the 2009 season.  Our transfer-o-rama table  was pretty accurate with just a few new names to fill it out.

The 13 teams are Amore e Vita/McDonalds/Velo Vie Pro Racing Team, Bissell Pro Cycling, Colavita/Sutter Home presented by Cooking Light, DLP Racing, Jelly Belly Cycling, Kelly Benefit Strategies, Kenda Pro Cycling presented by Spinergy, Land Rover/ORBEA – Benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Ouch presented by Maxxis, Team Mountain Khakis, Rock Racing, Team Type 1, and Trek LIVESTRONG U23 Team.

Gone from the list are Rite Aid, Jittery Joe’s, Toshiba-Santo, Toyota-United and Successful Living. The new teams are Amore e Vita/McDonalds/Velo Vie Pro Racing Team who is registering as a US-based team for the first time, Land Rover/ORBEA – Benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Ouch presented by Maxxis and Trek LIVESTRONG U23 Team.  Lastly, the rumors of the demise of the Kelly Benefit Strategies team were exagerated, and while the team did lose one sponsor, it is back for the 2009 season.

I pity the guys on the “Team Mountain Khakis” team. Only thing worse would be a “Crocs” team (especially if their kit was pink!)
