Amgen Tour of California Women’s Stage Race down to one crit

On Monday December 1st, the Press Democrat paper, based in Santa Rosa CA, reported that the previously announced 3-stage Amgen Tour of California Women’s Stage Race is now down to only one race, a criterium in Santa Rosa. The other 2 cities, Sacramento and San Jose,  are no longer holding a women’s race.

The Santa Rosa  women’s criterium will be held  from 1-2 p.m. on Feb. 15 on a .7-mile course. No comments from AEG on the changes or any further information on  the originally announced $25,000 purse.

Well that sucks.

update: the new purse for the crit is $15,000 and like last year will be raced on the men’s finishing circuit.
