After her teammate Regina Schleicher (Nurnberger Versicherung) lost the leader’s jersey to Judith Arndt (High Road) in this morning’s short time trial, Suzanne de Goede got it back in the second stage of the day of le Tour du Grand Montréal.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd in the Little Itaty district of Montreal, de Goede won the fourth stage, a 50 km criterium, outsprinting Oenone Wood (High Road) and Rochelle Gilmore (Menikini Selle Italia) to the line.
With the time bonuses on the line, de Goede takes over the overall general classification going into tomorrow’s final stage. Arndt moved down to second place at a scant 2 seconds back, and Wood in is third, at thirteen seconds back.
The fifth and final stage is a five-lap circuit race which totals 115 km and has a new start/finish area on Chemin Osias-Leduc, and was won by Wood last year.
